थैंक्स गिविंग परेड - ह्यूस्टन

Yesterday was very cold; she was in the room whole day. Once went out but cool wind was piercing. Jun came around six thirty in the evening. Today they all went to BJ Company in the afternoon and returned in the evening. From tomorrow onward three days are holidays. Already shops are decorated with Christmas trees and toys. Jun clicked some photographs of the shops and they have come nicely.

आज छुट्टी का पहला दिन है, सुबह उठकर ‘क्रिया’ आदि कर वे दस बजे तक तैयार थे. एक अच्छी फिल्म देखी, एक छोटा बच्चा जो ईश्वर में अटूट विश्वास करता है, अपने अथक प्रयास से उसे पा लेता है. विश्वासी सदा ईश्वर के निकट है. वे हार्विन  रोड भी गये पर वहाँ की दुकानों में सामान भरा होने के बावजूद कुछ खरीदने का मन नहीं हुआ, फिर वे डॉलर शॉप में गये जहाँ बच्चों के लिए गिफ्ट खरीदे, Manhattan pizza shop में पिजा खाया और चलते-चलते वापस होटल पहुंचे. वे लगभग चालीस मिनट चले होंगे पर थकान जरा भी नहीं थी. यहाँ हवा स्वच्छ है और ऐसा कुछ है जो लोगों को अनथक चलते रहने को प्रेरित करता है. दोपहर बाद वालमार्ट गये, कुछ और उपहार लिए. यहाँ के भौतिकतावादी जीवन का असर उन पर भी पड़ने लगा है, लेकिन आसपास दुकानों के अलावा कुछ है भी नहीं. भारत से इतना दूर रहकर वे अपने मित्रों- संबंधियों से अधिक स्नेह करने लगे हैं, सभी के लिए कुछ न कुछ खरीदने का मन होता है.

Just now they talked to Nanha, papa and ma in India. They said that they all are happy and fine but she felt a trace of sadness or something in their talk. Due to continental distance time lag prevents to speak smoothly. But at least they can chat from their room whenever they wish with the help of phone card. Today is thanksgiving festival, celebrated with great joy and show in America. There will be a parade in down town; they will see it on TV. Shops will be closed. Got up at five, did pranayama and yoga, it helps them very much in starting their day energetically. There friends are going to Las Vegas today and from there to Las angels. Yesterday they went to Harvin road to purchase a camera, but could not get it. Trip to Harvin was free, the other day cab driver promised them to take to Harvin free of cost, and he kept his words.  Sitting here and viewing thanks giving parade is a thing which does not happen often, it’s a life time experience. She is thankful to God who made it possible for her and thankful to all the people through whom God made it possible. Jun, Nanha, in-laws, jun’s company and many persons across the globe who made their journey a pleasant one. Her thanks go to these hotels’ personals and also to America, where people of every part of the world live gracefully is celebrating thanksgiving today!

She wrote the description of parade in her diary-

·         Blue, orange and white clad children are dancing on fast tune.

·         A black suited man was dancing amazingly, with some ladies, very fast on his steps.

·         Some wicked looking green clad dancers, some are wearing long pointed caps, and main dancer is black.

·         Here come fat clowns having long neck.

·         An eleven year old boy is singing and dancing wearing white shirt, grey half pant and red tie.

·         Wearing Red frocks with white fur border and heavy silver ornaments looking like circus artists, girls are showing there dance item.

·         A big turkey made of a balloon is being shown with other balloons of different shapes. Judy Collins is singing in slow tune wearing a black dress with pink shawl, big size red capsicum and other vegetables are being shown on the stage.

·         Now Pulaski high school Houston band has come on the center stage.

·         A big yellow bird (wool bird) with two small chicks is singing.

·         A white big plastic dog is moving slowly and a girl is singing.

·         Now Disney’s jungles have come with Micky and mini and other cartoons characters. Peter pan wearing green dress is large and huge, double story high.

·         Sam Houston high school band is playing some fast tune.

·         Other balloon is Pinocchio.

·         Now Santa clause is coming with Christmas bell and other decor of Christmas.

·         One Indian group is also coming with a big elephant decorated with golden plate on forehead and group of sari clad women and girls are dancing.

·         A  sardar ji is displaying his sword action.

नंदन कानन के शेर

कल वे पिकनिक पर गये थे, यहाँ से थोड़ी ही दूर पहाड़ियों के उस पार नदी के किनारे, पहाड़ियों पर चाय बागान थे, उन्होंने उनके मध्य से होते हुए चढाई भी की और कुछ लोग नदी पार करके दूसरे किनारे पर भी गये. दिन भर वे बहुत खुश थे, शाम को एक मित्र परिवार कई दिनों बाद मिलने आया और रात्रि को उसने एक बहुत दीर्घ स्वप्न देखा, स्वप्न में ही उसका अर्थ जानने का प्रयत्न भी किया. वह शायद यही जता रहा था कि वह सबकी नजरों में बने रहना चाहती थी ! परसों उन्हें जाना है सो आज दो सखियों को फोन करके विदा ली. आज सुबह ससुराल से फोन आया, बड़ी ननद आ गयी है, छोटी की डेट आने वाली है. उस दिन वे ट्रेन में होंगे. असमिया सखी नये घर में जा रही है, उसने सोचा नये वर्ष में उसका नया घर देखने वे जरूर जायेंगे. शाम को लाइब्रेरी जाकर किताबें वापस करनी हैं, और यात्रा में साथ ले जाने के लिए कुछ पत्रिकाएँ भी लानी हैं.

आज की सुबह की शुरुआत बड़े अजीब ढंग से हुई, जून ने उसे रोज की तरह उठाया और उसने स्वभावतः कहा कि कल उन्हें जाना है तो सुबह और भी जल्दी उठना पड़ेगा और फिर यह भी कि नन्हे और जून को तो कल स्कूल व दफ्तर  नहीं जाना होगा सो सम्भवतः उतनी जल्दी भी नहीं होगी, पर जून के अनुसार उनकी छुट्टी कल से शुरू नहीं हो रही है, जिस दिन जाना हो दफ्तर जाकर यदि sign कर दिए और वापस आकर भी यदि sign कर दिये या फोन से इन्फॉर्म भी कर दिया तो ड्यूटी ज्वाइन कर ली ऐसा माना जाता है. सब ऐसा ही करते हैं. कैसा अजीब सिस्टम है यह, उसकी समझ से बाहर. वैसे ही ऑफिस के दिनों में लोग सीट से गायब रहते हैं और.. इसी बात पर उसने जून को कुछ कहना चाहा पर उनको यह बात इस कदर नागवार गुजरी कि नाराज हो गये, खैर थोड़ी देर बाद( उनके क्रोध से उसके सिर से नैतिकता का भूत उतर गया) सब शांत हो गया, इन्सान सिस्टम का शिकार होकर इतना तटस्थ हो जाता है कि उसे इस बात का अहसास तक नहीं होता कि जो वह कर रहा है गलत है. वह जो इतनी किताबें पढ़ती है, सच्चाई, ईमानदारी, नैतिकता, और मूल्यों की बात करती है, क्या वह केवल किताबों तक ही सीमित नहीं है, कदम-कदम पर लोग समझौते करते हैं, वे सुविधा उठाना चाहते हैं जिन पर उनका अधिकार नहीं है. यह मानसिक उथल-पुथल कहीं उसे अस्वस्थ न कर दे.

कोलकाता गेस्ट हाउस

It is their first morning away from. Yesterday at 10.45 they started from home to air port. Air Bus took one and half hour to reach Calcutta. Flight was good except one thing, their’s was last seat and two times they suffered foul smell but it was nothing compared to the smell they felt while coming from Calcutta airport to guest house in park street. They passed it in few minutes but people who live their day and night continuous breath in it, in that sense Calcutta is a stinking city. Here in park street their guest house is on sixth floor but traffic noise is as much as on first floor in any other city. She could not sleep due to noise and due to excitement of journey and their meeting with Punjabi didi’s family. She got three dress materials from a shop near by. Cloth is very good and of a different texture.

पुरी गेस्ट हाउस

आज सुबह उसकी नींद साढ़े तीन बजे ही खुल गयी, एक स्वप्न उसे सूर्योदय देखने जाने के लिए जगा रहा था, जून ने समय देखा और वे कुछ देर और सो गये. पांच बजे उठकर समुद्र तट पर गये, रास्ते में अँधेरा था, तट सुनसान था, पर सोडियम लाइट के कारण काफी उजाला था, जो दूर तक लगी हुई हैं. आकाश और पानी का रंग पहले श्याम था, फिर नीला हो गया और बाद में सुरमई, लाल होने की प्रतीक्षा करते रहे पर धुंध की वजह से सूर्य दिखाई नहीं दिया, सुबह की शुद्ध हवा में समुद्र की लहरों का उतर-चढ़ाव और दूर पानी में तिरती पाल वाली नावें बहुत अच्छी लग रही थीं. सवा छह बजे वे वापस आ गये, नहा-धो व नाश्ता करके भ्रमण के लिए निकले. कोणार्क मन्दिर, धौली, उदयगिरी की गुफाएं, नन्दन कानन और लिंग राज मन्दिर देखे. चन्द्रभागा तट पर नारियल पानी पिया. ‘पिपली’ से कुछ खरीदारी की, भुवनेश्वर से बुद्ध की एक मूर्ति खरीदी. पूरा दिन उड़ीसा की नई-पुरानी जगहों को देखने में निकल गया. नंदन कानन में सफेद बाघ व शेरों को देखना नन्हे के साथ उनके लिए भी एक सुखद अनुभव था, शेर खुले में घूमते-घूमते सड़क तक आ पहुंचे थे, और आराम फरमा रहे थे. जून ने कई तस्वीरें उतारीं. कल पुरी में उनका अंतिम दिन है. सुबह समुद्र तट पर नहाने का कार्यक्रम है, नन्हा इसके लिए तैयारी करके आया है.

रघुबीर यादव का अभिनय

It is 9.25 AM, Nanha has gone to school after about  1 and1/2 months summer vacations.  He was very happy and looking smart in his new school dress. It is raining since morning, when jun went to Dibrugadh with his friend. Last evening they went to their place, she is rigid like anything but nuna did not say any thing. Yesterday they got two letters, one is from her younger sister, She has sent a long and interesting letter. She seems to be very happy, another was from her elder sis-in-law. Today is weekly dusting day, when sweeper cleans cobwebs etc. इतने दिनों बाद घर में सन्नाटा है, नन्हा यदि घर पर होता तो अब तक कई सवाल कर  चुका होता. आज सुबह वह रघुबीर यादव की नकल बहुत अच्छी तरह कर रहा था.  ‘आसमान से गिरा’ फिल्म आज भी ‘छुट्टी-छुट्टी’ में दिखाई जाएगी वह खुद तो देख नहीं पायेगा सो उससे पूछ रहा था. कल शाम वे उसे छोडकर एक घंटे के लिए किसी के घर गये थे. He was quite comfortable and when they came back he was wearing SUPERMAN dress. Jun just laughed. He told her so many things of his office. He is having a workload even then He willingly went to Dibrugadh

Today she managed without nanni. Yesterday it was all mess up in the morning. She had to wash clothes cause, Mina, her helper did not come. She was tired when jun came, he helped her and afterwards when he went back, she read silly stories of  women’s era. Then in the evening madam came and she asked them to wrire an essay on their township. Her friend called her and thanked for their help and she felt sorry for her views about her…but at that moment it was truth. Her language is bad enough to make laugh anyone who reads it. Today they will go to TSK to buy Nanha’s shoes and his Birthday dress. मौसम आज भी सुहावना है और मन शांत. कल शाम फोन से उसकी तेलुगु सखी से बात हुई, शायद उनका राजस्थान तबादला रुक गया है, पिछले दो दिनों से अख़बार नहीं पढ़ पायी है, यूँ भी हेड लाइंस तो इतनी पुरानी होती हैं, टीवी पर कई बार सुनी हुईं, ताजा अख़बार पढने का सुख यहाँ नहीं है लेकिन और बहुत सी बातें हैं, जिनके कारण यहाँ रहना उन्हें अच्छा लगता है.
